As a third-generation family business, we understand the importance of looking beyond today. Sustainability at The Beach Caravan Park is woven into our values, helping us preserve the beautiful destination our guests and owners enjoy while building a responsible business for generations to come.

Our membership of HARPA reflects our commitment to holding ourselves to high standards within the holiday park industry and playing our part in protecting the places around us. We are proud of the progress we have made, but recognise that there is always more to do. This is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to learning, improving and taking further positive steps each year.

Supporting Wildlife and Natural Habitats

The Wild Walk

Running through the centre of The Beach Caravan Park, our Wild Walk provides an area where plants and wildlife can thrive. By allowing selected spaces to grow more naturally, we can support local biodiversity and create valuable food and shelter for insects, birds and other wildlife.

David Bellamy Pledge for Nature

For at least 15 years, we have participated in the David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature through HARPA. Its annual challenges help us protect existing habitats, create new wildlife features and manage our green spaces in environmentally responsible ways.

Wildlife Pond

Our pond provides a natural habitat and important source of water for insects, amphibians, birds and other wildlife. By supporting a variety of species, it helps strengthen biodiversity and creates a healthier, more balanced ecosystem within the park.

Fruit Trees for Guests

Fruit trees planted around the park provide fresh, seasonal produce for our guests and owners to pick and enjoy. Their blossom also provides an important food source for pollinators, while the trees create additional shelter and habitat for wildlife.

Wales in Bloom

We have participated in Wales in Bloom for 14 years, helping us maintain high standards throughout our gardens and green spaces. It encourages thoughtful planting and responsible habitat management, creating beautiful surroundings for guests while supporting biodiversity across the park.

Bug Hotels

Our bug hotels provide safe spaces for insects to shelter, nest and overwinter throughout the seasons. Supporting insect populations is important for the wider park ecosystem because they contribute to pollination, natural pest control and the food chain.

Investing in Cleaner Equipment

Robotic Mowing

In 2025, our Husqvarna Automower 430X maintains selected grassed areas efficiently and consistently. Its electric operation reduces our reliance on petrol-powered mowing equipment while operating quietly, helping us care for the park with less noise and disruption.

Electric Grounds Equipment

In 2026, we replaced petrol-powered strimmers and mowers with electric alternatives. These quieter tools help reduce fuel use and emissions during routine grounds maintenance, creating a more pleasant environment for guests, owners and the team using them.

Our First Electric Park Van

Spring 2026 saw the introduction of our first electric commercial van at The Beach Caravan Park. Used by our team for everyday work around the park, it helps reduce our reliance on petrol and diesel vehicles during regular operations.

Electric Vehicle Charging

A second electric vehicle charging point was installed in summer 2026, increasing the facilities available to guests and owners travelling by electric vehicle. Expanding our charging provision supports changing travel choices and makes lower-emission journeys to the park more convenient.

Electric Golf Buggy

We added an electric golf buggy to our park equipment in summer 2026. It allows our team to travel around the park and carry out day-to-day tasks efficiently, while reducing fuel use, emissions and noise compared with a petrol-powered alternative.

Managing Resources Responsibly

Plasteco Furniture

We use Plasteco products to replace outdoor furniture that can no longer be repaired, including picnic tables. Made from recycled plastic, these durable alternatives give waste materials a new purpose while reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Producing Our Own Compost

The Beach Caravan Park produces its own compost using suitable green waste collected during grounds maintenance. Our grounds team and owners are encouraged to use it in their gardens, helping improve the soil, support healthy planting and reduce organic waste.

Rainwater Collection

Water butts positioned around the park collect rainwater for our team, guests and owners to use when watering gardens and planted areas. Making use of this natural resource helps reduce demand on the mains water supply, particularly during drier periods.

Recycling Across the Park

Recycling facilities help guests, owners and staff separate recyclable materials from general waste. Providing an accessible way to recycle supports better waste management across the park and helps reduce the amount of reusable material being sent to landfill.
