Thornley Leisure Parks comes together for Macmillan Cancer Support
Across Thornley Leisure Parks, our teams, owners and guests came together over the weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, with coffee mornings, raffles, bingo, cocktails, darts and plenty of cake helping to make each event a success.
From The Beach Caravan Park on the North Wales coast to Gallaber Park in North Yorkshire, it was fantastic to see so many people getting involved, donating generously and giving their time to support such an important cause.
The Beach
The Beachcomber at The Beach Caravan Park was full of activity on Saturday 26th September as owners, guests and the team came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning. There was plenty of cake to work through, alongside a large raffle and a game of bingo, with bingo strips sold for £1 and all proceeds going directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The fundraising continued later in the day with a specially created green cocktail. Priced at £5, every sale was donated to the charity. By the end of the event, The Beach had raised an impressive £1,530 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who came along, bought tickets, donated prizes, enjoyed the refreshments and supported the event, as well as the team who worked hard to make the day happen.
Gallaber Park raises an incredible £3,835.67
At Gallaber Park, the fundraising began with a Macmillan Coffee Morning, with stalls run by park owners helping to get the day off to a brilliant start.
The ground staff then took on a mammoth Darts Marathon, beginning at around 11am and continuing until approximately 8pm. Supported through sponsorships and donations, the challenge alone raised an impressive £1,797.79. The evening continued with an auction at 9pm, featuring prizes generously donated by owners and local businesses, followed by a raffle with more than 20 prizes. Fundraising through the bar, coffee morning, auction and raffle reached £2,037.88, bringing Gallaber Park’s overall total to an incredible £3,835.67.
It was a real team effort, and we’d like to thank every owner, member of staff, local business and guest who donated, sponsored, contributed a prize or simply came along to support the day.
Dinlle Caravan Park raises £411 for Macmillan
At Dinlle Caravan Park, owners, guests and the team came together for a Macmillan Coffee Morning and darts tournament, raising a fantastic £411 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
With plenty of cake, coffee and a bit of friendly competition at the dartboard, the event was another great example of everyone getting involved to support a worthwhile cause.
A big thank you to everyone who took part, donated, helped organise the day or simply came along to show their support. Every contribution helped towards the final total, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made the event such a success.
