With North Wales fast becoming the foodie destination everyone wants to head to, we thought we’d do a series on the best eateries that we know of in the various towns within reach of our five star parks. Where better to start than the Queen of the Welsh Resorts, Llandudno?! A great day out for those staying at The Beach, Maenan Abbey or Craiglwyd Hall; Llandudno offers a variety of foodie delights for all appetites!

There’s plenty to do and see and eating out in the seaside resort is a real pleasure. There are countless new and modern venues appearing, as well as old favourites. Eating, drinking and socialising really do take centre stage here with a wealth of producers offering top quality products at the moment be it artisan coffee, craft beers or seasonal welsh goods to try. There’s multiple choices in Llandudno with options suitable for all budgets so let us take you through our personal favourites…

1. Osbourne House
Osbourne House is the number one place for a swish date night with a brilliant à la carte menu. You’re bound to be impressed with the delicious choice on offer – opt for the hake or shrimp, local fish is the order of the day here, or try their steak; cooked to perfection of course. It’s the perfect venue for a date or special occasion meal. Here you’ll be surrounded by candles and orchids, looked after with the utmost attention and you can choose to begin the evening with a cocktail in the inviting lounge. Find it by looking for the blue neon light, just opposite the Pier. It’s housed in a beautiful building from the 1830’s not far from the Great Orme.

2. The Cottage Loaf
Located in the back streets of Llandudno town, you can easily miss this one but do make sure to look out for it between Market Street and Garden Street next time you’re shopping in the area. The locals love it, not only is it a great place for outdoor Summer drinks with twinkling lights overhead but the food is a quality offering at very good, reasonable prices. We think it’s a fantastic spot for lunch on the terrace that turn into drinks on the tiles; the traditional country pub feel gives way inside to a modern conservatory and large terrace. Try the sea bream or house pâté along with a fruity beer.

3. Providero: Fine Teas and Coffees
Voted one of the top rated coffee houses in North Wales, Providero is an excellent place for breakfast or brunch serving delicious loose leaf teas and speciality coffees in a beautifully designed community space. Grab the morning papers and go for their healthy porridge or for lunch try the soup of the day. It’s a nice venue to while away the morning be it inside the cosy cafe interior or sat outside looking towards the Orme on a Summer’s day. Did we mention there’s a piano for added musical loveliness?!

4. The Queen’s Head
A slight outsider located in the village of Glanwydden, just a few minutes walk from the Little Orme side of Llandudno, The Queen’s Head showcases a menu of Welsh favourites and modern classics – the walk alone to the pretty village of Glanwydden is lovely and on the way you’ll come across an old windmill, houses covered in roses and plenty of sheep as well as an orchard. Be sure to stay for dessert and a nightcap – the bar is especially cosy with a traditional stone hearth fireplace and books – a warm and inviting space to enjoy a brandy or coffee with homemade fudge.

5. 3rd Space Kitchen and Bar
A relative newcomer to the scene, 3rd Space opened earlier this year after spending some time as a music venue and creative space in various locations. Along the way they were adorned with numerous awards for their creativity and innovation. The latest offering is their new high street restaurant; a place to socialise, dine and celebrate. With regular live music and comedy nights it’s a good choice for a fun meal out. The food is a tasty mix of local produce and hearty global cuisine with many a plant based option. Try their dessert specials – the brownie is a work of art!
