During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have been fortunate enough to help several local Keyworkers by allowing them to make use of our hire caravans in order to shield their families from the risk of infection.

We were lucky enough to catch up with one of our new residents whilst she was in between shifts and ask her a few questions…….

Name – Nia Jenkins

Age – 30

Occupation – Emergency Medical Technician for Welsh Ambulance Service. Based on Anglesey.

Park where you are staying during COVID 19 Pandemic: Dinlle Caravan Park

Before the Pandemic started where did you live?

Lived with my family in Llandwrog, a small village just up the road from Dinas Dinlle.

How long have you been an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)?

2 years.

How has staying at Dinlle Caravan Park helped you during this time?

I would never want to put any of my family at risk by going home after a shift and transferring any infection or germs onto them due the job I have chosen.  Being able to stay at Dinlle Caravan Park has given me the ability to protect my family and for that I will be forever grateful.  It has given me the ability to continue the work I do for the NHS, fighting the pandemic whilst keeping my family safe.

How have you found staying with us during this time?

It’s been lovely! Obviously we’re in the middle of a pandemic but I’ve really enjoyed being here. In between the sea and the mountains, it really is a beautiful spot.

Before this, what were your hobbies/interests/spare time?

I love being in the great outdoors, mountaineering, climbing and exploring the places I am so fortunate to have on my doorstep.

Favourite local places to eat and drink?

Hard to choose a favourite! Dylan’s in Menai Bridge, La Marina in Felinheli, Black Boy and Osteria in Caernarfon. I love all the little pubs in Caernarfon too – Bar Bach, Black Boy, Tŷ Glyndwr, Castle…i could go on and on!

Favourite local places to visit?

I love to visit The Snowdonia National Park and Beacon Climbing Centre. I’m a bit biased as it’s where I call home but I always make time to go for a walk on Dinas Dinlle beach! The Coastal Paths on Anglesey and Pen Llŷn are also great for the views and taking in the amazing coastal air.

After the crisis is over – what are you looking forward to doing the most locally? Spending time with loved ones, without having to be at a distance! I cannot wait to hike up a mountain and have a cuppa on the summit! Think this whole experience has made us all appreciate the little things in life that we have taken for granted!

From everyone at Thornley Leisure Parks -Thank you to all the keyworkers out there fighting this virus on a daily basis to keep us safe!
