Our Commitment and Guarantees to Every Holiday Home Owner

At Thornley Leisure Parks, we believe that buying a holiday home should be one of life’s most exciting and rewarding decisions. With over 60 years of experience and a collection of beautifully located parks across North Wales, Mid Wales, Cheshire and North Yorkshire, our promise is simple: we’re here to make ownership easy, enjoyable and totally stress-free — from day one, and every day after. Therefore we believe every owner every can enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits designed to provide confidence, clarity, and long-term value. These Include:

12-Month Warranty

All caravan purchases come with a full 12-month warranty from the date of handover, covering faulty appliances, manufacturing defects, and any components that fail to function as they reasonably should.

While the warranty excludes pre-existing damage noted at sale, accidental damage, misuse, neglect, and general wear and tear, owners can rely on approved contractors to complete all warranty work unless otherwise agreed.

Service Plan

A full first-year service plan is included as part of ownership. Before handover, every caravan undergoes gas and electric safety testing.

Owners also receive one complimentary call-out during the first 12 months for any issues that arise, with significant faults covered under the warranty for parts and labour where applicable. Future service plans are available at £199 per year, billed each October, and include annual gas and electrical safety checks plus one free call-out, though any parts and labour beyond this are chargeable.

Model License Agreements

Thornley Leisure provides generous long-term licence terms to ensure lasting enjoyment. Brand-new single-unit caravans come with a 20-year licence, while new twin-unit models include a 25-year licence.

Used caravans always carry a minimum of 10 years remaining, and the licence start date for units under 10 years old is based on the manufacturer’s year of production, ensuring owners always receive the correct remaining term. These are endorsed by the BH&HPA and will clearly indicate when a customers license expires.

Free WiFi

All owners and their guests benefit from free access to the park’s WiFi system. Access codes are renewed annually, and while speeds and coverage may vary depending on location and device type, the service is unlimited and requires no subscription.

No Finance Commission

Thornley Leisure operates with complete financial transparency. Finance is provided through Propensio Finance, and the park receives no commission for arranging finance, meaning the rates shown are exactly as provided. Full finance terms are available from any sales representative.

Site Fee Transparency

Site fees are displayed clearly in writing and include all applicable charges. While fees may increase annually in line with inflation or economic conditions, Thornley Leisure, as a longstanding family business, does not impose unreasonable increases.

All site fees are published in advance of the billing period to ensure clarity.

I've settled into my new holiday home nicely and and really enjoying the tranquility of the park. I love how friendly all the owners and staff are. I chose Lakeside Caravan Park because I wanted to find a park which wasn’t too far away of a drive from home. I also love how well the park is looked after by the team at Lakeside - I'm over the moon!

We chose Morfa Lodge because we liked how well kept the park is and love the fact the park is so quiet - which is very appealing to us and and we love the location. It is our third year of owning a static caravan on Dinlle and we love it here. We upgraded our caravan in January/February 2025 which was very straightforward, Josh and the team went above and beyond to achieve the best deal for us. we're so happy in our lovely holiday home which has uninterrupted views of the snowdonia mountain range and Dinas Dinlle beach along with fish and chips and cafe Braf just five minute stroll down the road. The staff in the office, park keepers and grounds people are all very welcoming and friendly. The site is about five miles from Caernarfon if you want supermarkets, shops, dining out or a fabulous Castle to visit. Owning a holiday home with Thornley Leisure has been a good experience for our family. It is helpful that you understand all the costs before buying one. Josh and his sales team were very helpful with everything. Well done Thornley for keeping such a beautiful site here at Dinlle.

We purchased our holiday home on VV August 24 and have just completed our first full year on the site. So pleased we made the leap. The site is beautiful, immaculately maintained and Sarah and Clive go above and beyond to help and support with any issues. The location is perfect with easy access to plenty of days out to suit everyone and the owner events throughout the year are a really nice touch that bring everyone together. We have enjoyed Halloween, Christmas, Easter and the best part of the 6 weeks summer holiday on site and each season has its own magic. It's a joy to get the children off the screens and onto the park! Looking forward to many more happy years ahead.

We are delighted with our purchase of a caravan at Maenan Abbey, North Wales. The site is peaceful and well maintained, winning the Welsh caravan site of the year on many occasions. The staff are super. (Special shout out to Rob!!) There is no bar, no swimming pool just the peace and quiet of the Welsh countryside. Handy for Betws y coed, Llandudno and Snowdonia. We have owned for 4 years and let our family and friends use the caravan and there has never been a negative comment!

Maenan Abbey
We are at the Craiglwyd site in Penmaenmawr, North Wales. The site is lovely with amazing views and well maintained. I first visited as a child in 1975 and returned with my family on three occasions until 1977. Fast forward to 2024 and ended up in Pen since forever and for nostalgia went to look at Craiglwyd. My wife and I were just blown away with the layout and flowers - just so pretty. We got talking to the manager and ended up on a whim buying a spot there. We have no regrets. The location is picturesque with views across the bay. Staff are just brilliant. The old manor houses a bar, lounge and kids facilities with a nice patio. Great for all ages, pets, families etc yet it is quiet and relaxing. Some fantastic fellow owners too. Best buy of ours so far. Cannot recommend it enough.

Private Sale Freedom

Owners have full freedom to sell their caravan privately at any time. The park retains first refusal and will make a fair-market offer, but if no agreement is reached, the owner may sell privately on the pitch, provided at least 12 months of licence remains and the caravan meets park standards for safety and condition.

Private sales incur a 15% + VAT commission, and estate-agent style signs are not permitted on the park or in windows. Online adverts must be accurate and honest, and all prospective buyers must meet with a park representative before any sale is completed.

Guaranteed Buy Back

Thornley Leisure guarantees to offer a clear and fair buy back price to all customers who bought their caravans through Thornley Leisure. We use Brego, an industry valuation platform, for guidance on all buy backs.

The caravan would need to be in like new condition with no major alterations made to the caravan.

No Hard Pressure Salesmanship

Annual Park Rules Review

Having well-defined park rules helps ensure a safe, enjoyable, and harmonious environment for everyone staying on our caravan park. These guidelines set clear expectations, protect the wellbeing of guests, and help maintain the quality and peaceful atmosphere that our community values.

We review our park rules annually to make sure they remain fair, up to date, and reflective of our guests’ needs. This regular review allows us to adapt to changes, improve the guest experience, and continue providing a welcoming space for all.
