Meet the Team: Clive, Park Manager at Valley View Holiday Park

In the first week of December, our Holiday Park in Mid Wales, Valley View Holiday Park acquired a new Park Manager.  Clive Thomas has joined the Thornley Leisure Parks team, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for the industry.  We thought we’d do a quick Q & A with Clive to see what makes him tick and what he’s looking forward to in his new role.

Position: Park Manager

How long have you worked for Thornley Leisure? Since 7^th December 2020

Who have you come to Valley View Holiday Park with? My wife Tracy and our two Labradors, Billy and Charlie.

What excites you most about your new role? The opportunity to be involved in the redevelopment of this beautiful Holiday Park. I had forgotten how enjoyable it was to work for a family business where my ideas are listened to and decisions are made quickly. It is already clear how much work has already been undertaken since Thornley Leisure Parks acquired the park over two years ago and I can’t wait to get stuck in and drive the park forward to reach its full potential.

I can most likely be found… Driving around the area and walking our two Labradors, Billy and Charlie.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? After the past 14 months of restrictions the first thing will be to spend some time with family, but generally getting out and enjoying the local area with our dogs.

My best find in the local area so far have been….since we arrived in early December we have been restricted to where we can go, however we have made it to Bala Lake and found in stunning.

I enjoy working in the Holiday Park industry because…it’s not a job, it’s a vocation.  You have to be certain type of person as it becomes your life – especially when you live on Park.  To be successful you have to care, the customer experience must be amazing for each guest.

What are you looking forward to doing after the current restrictions ease? Meeting the Owners, visiting the local hostelries to eat out and getting re-acquainted with Mid and North Wales.

What has been your favorite aspect of Valley View so far? Seeing the amount of investment that Thornley Leisure Parks are putting into the park infrastructure. The tranquility of the area and the amazing wildlife on display.

Do you have any advice to anyone thinking of owning a holiday home? Don’t think too long, make sure the park is right for you as the Holiday Home can always be found. It will be the move that will change your life and a real investment in quality time that we have all been lacking over the past twelve months!

Any parting words…. Thank you to the staff here at Valley View who have welcomed me into their world and taught me so much already.  The owners I have had the pleasure of meeting so far have all been extremely kind and I am just looking forward to meeting the rest of our customers as soon as it is safe to do so.
